Zoe Creative, fun and caring nanny

I am a passionate Art graduate and currently training to be an Art Psychotherapist at Goldsmiths University. I nurture the emotional wellbeing of every child, through encouraging free exploration of feelings and self expression by providing engaging art experiences. Whether a 3 month old, or a 3 year old, I find all children learn through play, and being offered a variety of experiences and interaction with materials from a young age is fundamental for their development in self-esteem, communication and language, creativity and understanding of the world around them.

During my placement of my PGCE in Early Childhood, I challenged the learning experiences that were being offered to the infants in the baby room, and improved provision by offering more craft resources, mark making opportunities, cooking experiences and daily access to fresh playdough, water and sand play, as well as enhancing outdoor learning. Whilst I celebrate my inner child and am not afraid of mess, I set comfortable boundaries and role model high standards of cleanliness and give children responsibility and praise for tidying their own toys, paints etc. after play.

Playfulness is at the heart of everything I do and fun is the desired outcome. I am active and energetic so naturally love taking learning outdoors, rain or shine, but am happy to use my initiative and create new experiences in the home environment too. A humble book can deliver so much if it is read with enthusiasm and intrigue! Beyond being an educator, I am also there to comfort children and support them with any of their needs throughout their development, be it tears, tantrums or toileting.

I find that being a nanny allows me to bring so many threads of my interest together and above all support parents to raise a child who feels secure and loved, giving them the resilience to take on the challenges the world may bring.
